Trauma-Informed Legal Services at Bonney Law

Alexandria Bonney (she/her) founded Bonney Law in 2024 to provide trauma-informed legal services in Ontario, focusing on employment and human rights law.  Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, she has now settled in Ottawa, Ontario.

Education & Credentials

Alexandria holds a Bachelor of Arts, Honours, in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa Law School. She is a lawyer called to the Ontario Bar, specializing in employment and human rights law.  She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal and the Consent and Capacity Board. 


Alexandria is dedicated to improving access to justice for the most vulnerable clients. She teaches the Prison Law Practicum at the Unviersity of Ottawa and Prison Law in Action at Carleton University, where she emphasizes the importance of prison law in protecting the rights of those incarcerated. 


She serves on the Board of Directors for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa and is a Founder of the Not-For-Profit Prisoner Legal Supports, which provides essential legal services in Ontario to provincial prisoners.
